That's not me.  (I'm over here.)  It's Xerxes in her best Sunday dress.
This week she has been reading Yann Martel's Life of Pi.
 
 
Somehow this won the Man Booker Prize.  Xerxes doesn't see why.
The novel drags on for some 300 or so pages telling a story that could
barely hold her attention.  She simply can't see the grounds for declaring it
"fantastic in nearly every sense of the word" or "nothing short of miraculous"
or any of the other bits of exaggeration littering the reviews that appear
at the beginning of her copy under the heading "Praise for Life of Pi".
