Prospective Graduate Students

This is a page for prospective graduate students interested in working in my lab. You should check out Huxley's page on the graduate programs offered. I advise MS students in Environmental Sciences (not Geography). We admit students in fall quarter only and start reviewing applications on February first. You should also contact me to see what projects I've going at the moment. I'm generally interested in how humans are changing the globe and I tend to focus on how forests respond to climate. I often work on elevational gradients in mountain or arctic systems. Look at my research page for more info.

I'm looking for graduate students who are intellectually curious and hardworking. Most of the work I do is quantitative and students that want to work with me should be prepared to do some kind of quantitative research. Aptitude or interest in statistics is especially important! This doesn't mean you need perfect math GRE scores. Willingness to learn and work hard are the most important things.

If I have funded positions available, I'll advertise them here and circulate them on various listservs. But, I'm always interested in hearing from prospective students and am willing to work to help find funding, so drop me a line.
