Things that don't fit into teaching or research:
- I'm involved with the USA National Phenology Network. The NPN is involved with the systematic collection and free dissemination of phenological data from across the United States in support of global change research.
- I've been featured on the NPR program Earth and Sky a few times. Links are here and here.
Bio: If you are interested in how I got here, I grew up in Boston. For a lot of good reasons, I attended the Evergreen State College as an undergraduate where I mostly studied birds and worked at cool places like Hawk Mountain Sanctuary. I hiked the Appalachain Trail and a bunch of the Pacific Crest trail before going for a master's degree at Duke University's Nicholas School of the Environment where I worked in the Landscape Ecology Lab. I went to Montana State University for a PhD where I studied treeline forests in the Department of Land Resources and Environmental Sciences and at the Big Sky Institute. I did a post-doc at the Woods Hole Research Center on Cape Cod in Massachusetts before coming to Huxley.
Other Stuff: You can find my brother Ted online here and my dad here.
