Information About Volunteering to Be a Commentator or Session Chair
Please note that the BSPC 2006 is not open to the general public. It is, instead, an invitation-only affair. (This is partly due to funding and logistical constraints, and partly due to the fact that the BSPC is a workshop-style conference that involves in-depth discussions of works-in-progress.)
Please also note that all participants at the BSPC are expected to read all of the conference pre-reads (which will not be presented during the conference) in advance of the sessions devoted to those papers. So you should not submit a paper -- or volunteer to be a commentator or session chair -- unless you know that if you come then you will be a responsible conference participant.
Papers on any philosophical topic are welcome, but we are looking for papers that will be of interest to philosophers in general (as opposed to being of interest only to philosophers who specialize in one particular subfield of philosophy).
There is no official maximum length, but some preference will be given to shorter papers (under, say, 20 pages) rather than longer papers (over, say, 25 pages).
All BSPC submissions must be prepared for blind review, and should be submitted electronically to Andy Egan at egana@umich.edu.
Deadline for submissions: March 15th, 2006.
Authors of submitted papers will be notified of the Program Committee's decisions by May 1st.
To volunteer to be a commentator or session chair, please email Andy Egan at egana@umich.edu. (And please be sure to indicate your area(s) of specialization within philosophy.)
Note: The Program Committee for BSPC 2006 consists of Andy Egan (Program Committee Chair), Karen Bennett, and Tyler Doggett.
