Geology slides

Many of these slides were entered by Jim Talbot. Numbers such as 67_097 indicate they are his slides and are available for use if needed. The scanned versions are in the folder cdgeol\xls in sub folders named by year, e.g.\67. You may freely copy those .jpg images for your own use.

Pictures arranged by locality  Includes North America, Europe and Australasia.
[Cascade Ranges] Mostly landscape pictures of the Cascades of Washington and including Coast Ranges of British Columbia.

Note on localities: e.g. for Tintagel, Cornwall, UK. [SX052890; 50.667420,-4.757384] means UK grid reference, where present; followed by Latitude and Longitude.  - latitudes are in the southern hemisphere; - longitudes are west. The latitude/longitude values were obtained from Google maps, using the Satellite tab. The 6 decimal place values are approximately equivalent to 1 meter precision. This would require GPS precision not available to most, and for those of us who use maps, even 100m precision is unlikely.
Block and copy the entire Lat Lon numbers, including the comma, to the Search window of Google Maps, Satellite tab, to find an approximate map location.
