There
are five main options: by airplane, by car, by train, by bus, and by boat.
Some
conference participants will probably want to fly directly to Bellingham, while
others may want to fly to SeaTac and rent a car from there. (It is also
possible to rent a car from the airport in Bellingham.) Another alternative is to fly
to Vancouver, BC, and rent a car from there.
If
you are interested in sharing a ride to or from SeaTac, you might want to
check out the BSPC 2009 blog.
Bellingham is an 80 minute drive from Seattle, and a 95
minute drive from SeaTac. (But beware of rush hour traffic around Seattle, which can be
bad, especially on Friday afternoon.) The Airporter Shuttle provides
convenient bus service between Bellingham
and SeaTac.
Bellingham is about an hour by car from Vancouver, and a little less from Vancouver Airport
(although sometimes there is a delay at the US/Canada border). For bus
service between Vancouver Airport and Bellingham,
check out the Quick Shuttle.
There
is also a train station in Bellingham,
with passenger service from both Seattle and Vancouver. For more information,
visit the Amtrak web site.
For
further information about travel to Bellingham,
see the Transportation pages of the Port of Bellingham web site.
