Objectives
  1. to familiarize you with field techniques used to capture fish for management purposes;
  2. to teach you how to collect relevant information from fish and interpret that information;
  3. to familiarize you with the common sportfishes of Washington;
Expectations
  1. sight identification of 38 species of adult common sport fishes;
  2. identification, description, and application of sampling gear;
  3. collection of information from fish samples for interpretation;
  4. data interpretation techniques;
  5. three lab reports: population estimation; population assessment; and age and growth;
  6. participation in discussion of weekly reading assignments;
  7. enthusiastic participation in field and laboratory exercises;
