Exercise 1)

 

Given the data set of scores for lab #1 for a class like this on,

6, 7, 7, 8, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10 ,10

 

Using only the book and a calculator

1) Create a worksheet of 5 columns:  Score, X-Xbar, (X-Xbar)2, (X-Xbar)3, (X-Xbar)4

 

2) Compute:  Standard Deviation, Coefficient of Variation, Skewness, and Kurtosis using formulas from the book.  (Equations 3.8, 3.12, 3.15, and 3.17)

 

Now- write answers for what do these numbers mean and what are they telling you about the data?  How would you distribute the grades for these labs?
